Our storage and inventory system is rigorously managed to maintain optimal stock levels, minimizing wastage and ensuring product availability at all times. Production Process

The production process refers to the method of utilizing inputs, such as labor, land or capital, to provide the intended goods and services to the target customers. It covers how to manufacture products for sale efficiently and productively, without compromising the quality of the product. The production process flow chart and the production process table showcase the BackSweet Bois’ step-by-step procedure for the production of both the main product, coffee, and its complementary snack, cookies, starting from the acquisition of products up to packaging.

The flow chart depicts the general process that the BackSweet Bois will undergo to produce the intended consumable goods that will be offered to the customers. This flowchart consists of 6 general steps namely: Production Conceptualization, Preparations for Production, Manufacturing of Products (Coffee and Cookies), Product Inspection, and Packaging.


Purchase Procedure

For the purchase procedures of the BackSweet Bois, assessment of inventories will take place first and then, the production manager provides a comprehensive list of ingredients, tools and equipment used both for coffee and cookies. Afterwards, the financial manager assesses the business' financial capabilities, checking whether its resources are high enough to pay the cost of acquiring the ingredients, tools and equipment necessary to produce the offered products. Furthermore, once the Financial manager gives a go-sign, choosing of appropriate suppliers from the previously chosen stores commences, eliminating the alternatives and below the average.


Next, evaluation of the suppliers' ability to supply the goods, their costs, their quality, their accessibility and even discounts and image are all taken into account before making a decision. Goods are to be delivered and there is a significant need to check that they are in good shape, free of errors and faulty manufacturing. This is also applicable to the tools and equipment of the business owners, there is a need to keep an eye on their condition regularly to make sure that everything is neat and ensure the safety and wellbeing of the customers. A thorough inspection will be conducted to ensure compliance with the brand standards.

Once again, a reevaluation of the chosen suppliers is conducted to confirm whether the supplies fall short of the business' expectations, both through its requirements and capabilities. This will also decide whether the business owners find new suppliers or stick to the current one.

Storage and Inventory System

In any business, having safe storage and capable personnel to oversee the inventory is a pivotal step towards an efficient and effective business operation. This results in a good maintenance of equipment and tools, as well as excellent condition of the ingredients, with no excess or deficit. However, no rent expenses will be incurred for inventory storage as this business is a new one and still underdevelopment. Instead, the business owners opted to utilize two houses of different members, one for the production of coffee and one for the production of cookies, as storage facilities for raw materials, pre-baked, packaged cookies and brewing ingredients.

The general manager is assigned with the task of keeping track of the storage in order to easily identify the purchasing transactions of the business, the ingredients being used per batch and the amount of inventory remaining the business have at their disposal. In order to minimize spoilage of raw materials, the invention must be monitored regularly and kept up-to-date backed up by real-time reports so that arising any risk can be taken care off immediately.

The BackSweet Bois will also be a Just-In-Time (JIT) system wherein products are produced solely to meet the demand, with no excess. This strategy significantly decreases the chances of creating surplus of goods, which would lessen the production costs. Aligning raw-material order and purchase from suppliers directly with the business' production schedule can also decrease the waste rate of the goods. Reviewing of Inventory is a must every after day of operation, and Checking of Inventory is a must every end of a week.

Sales Procedure

In this modern society where technology progresses and internet thrives, the BackSweet Bois wants to take advantage of the customers’ online presence as this is an opportunity for the business to gather, attract and cultivate potential customers through promoting their products and services online. From the results of the survey, BackSweet Bois establishes online stores through social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.

Photos of the finished products, product specifications, and basic information about the BackSweet Bois will be presented on the said online platforms to share customer testimonials, and to engage content that can attract those who are interested with the business. By doing so, for practical and convenient purposes, the business owners will be able to sell the said coffee and cookies utilizing online outlets where customers can also inquire about the business for further concerns.

Next on the agenda is accommodating diverse payment methods, ranging from cash to electronic apps like "Gcash," ensuring convenience for a broad customer base. Establishing a reliable and timely delivery service, communicating, and providing real- time tracking to satisfy customers are also the priorities of the owners.

Additionally, the business owners will deliver the ordered products in limited areas only, the second option is a face-to-face meet-up of owner and customers inside the MSU-IIT Campus on the scheduled date. Moreover, the BackSweet Bois’ products are also available in a physical store which customers can visit and purchase for.
